On Monday, April 24th, 2023 Crumbl Cookies released the Cookie Journal to the public. This is a project they have been working on for quite some time with the help of members of the r/CrumblCookies Reddit community. CEO Jason McGowan thank the community on this thread. The Crumbl Cookies Cookie Journal is a genius idea for Crumbl to continue to get more data from its diehard fans. At a time when Crumbl is actually seeing a drop in search traffic month over month, it is obvious the luster has worn off a bit. With very few new flavors coming out and dozens of locations in every single city, it is not the fad it was during the summer of 2021 and even the summer of 2022. It will be interesting to see if sales and traffic pick up heading into the summer of 2023 but trends are not looking good. Hence, why the Cookie Journal was released.
Now that the Crumbl Cookies Cookie Journal has been out over a month, diehard Crumbl fans are looking for some type of incentive. There has been quite a lot of data that Crumbl has been able to collect, but what is going to get diehard fans to continue to rate and review cookies? Is Crumbl going to offer free crumbs to those that rate a certain number of cookies? Are they going to offer a free 4-pack once a power user gets past a certain number of ratings? Can Crumbl Cookies fans get anything from doing all this hard work?
In the first month (May 2023), the most popular cookies with the highest number of ratings are as follows:
- Milk Chocolate Chip – 66.4k reviews
- Classic Pink Sugar – 45.6k reviews
- Pink Velvet Cake – 26k reviews
- Lemon Cheesecake – 22.4k reviews
- Banana Bread – 21.1k reviews
- Cake Batter – 20.4k reviews
- Strawberry Cake – 19.7k reviews
- Chocolate Mallow Cupcake – 19.1k reviews
- Honey Cake – 18.8k reviews
- Dirt Cake – 18.1k reviews
- Peanut Butter ft Snickers – 17.7k reviews
- Chocolate Milk – 17.6k reviews
- Snickerdoodle Cupcake – 11.7k reviews
- Strawberry Cheesecake – 9.2k reviews
- Mallow Sandwich – 7.9k reviews
Not surprisingly, the cookies with the most reviews have been on the rotating menu some time in the last month (a month in which the Cookie Journal was available). Interestingly, the “Popular” tab does not rank the cookies with the most reviews in any order. In fact, the order looks to be quite random. So far, cookies that rotate onto the menu get between 17k and 22k reviews by the time the week is over. We wonder if this will start to drop now that there are no incentives for fans to rate or review cookies in the Crumbl Cookies Journal.
We will post a few answers to some questions you may have related to the Cookie Journal.
