Are Crumbl Cookies Raw or Undercooked?

UPDATE: In April 2024 there are still many, many social media accounts that have documented undercooked, or what look to be undercooked, Crumbl Cookies. This continues to be a problem for the Crumbl brand. Note that there are an unlimited number of factors that could go into industrial sized ovens not baking thousands of cookies all the way through. Crumbl is known for having soft cookies so they definitely err of the uncooked side. That said, if you have been to a Crumbl Cookies location that consistently underbakes or undercooks their cookies, it might be best to go to another location.

Over the last several months dozens of viral social media posts on TikTok, Reddit and Instagram have gone viral in regards to undercooked, doughy, underbaked or raw Crumbl Cookies. In fact, at least several times a week a new user posts on the Crumbl Cookies subreddit to complain about a cookie not being cooked, pink in the middle or being raw. There is a very good reason for this. Crumbl has a magic formula and recipe that calls for a very specific amount of time in the oven. if this time is off just one or two minutes it can cause the cookies to seem undercooked or overcooked. The problem with the business model is the cookies are very large and the volume of cookies sold is incredible meaning there is no way to stick a toothpick in every single cookie to see if it is raw or undercooked.

When can all remember the good old days with the grandparents in the kitchen baking cookies or brownies. Grandma always told is to use a toothpick or fork to see if the baked good was cooked all the way through. If you have ever been in a Crumbl Cookies store on a busy Friday or Saturday night, you can be rest assured there is no way the cookies can be checked to see if they were baked all the way through.

Another issue might be the fact that some cookies cook a very short amount of time longer than others. So, if the Chocolate Brownie Batter cooks in 14 minutes and the Snickerdoodle cooks for 16 minutes it can be very easy for an employee to get these messed up and cook the Snickerdoodle just 14 minutes. It is not as if the employees are going to be able to taste test every single batch of cookies.

Some might ask if it is safe to consume or eat a Crumbl Cookies cookie that is raw or undercooked. As most people know, eating strictly cookie batter is not harmful, most of the time. Before continuing to eat the uncooked or raw Crumbl Cookie it is best to consult a registered dietician.

As a whole, Crumbl Cookies does an amazing job of getting you the best cookies possible. If you have an issue you can file a complaint on the app and get a new cookie for free at a later date. Most stores understand the power of the marketing that Crumbl does and will do whatever it takes to make certain the customer gets what they want.
