- i’m not sure what went wrong here. i would wake up a sleeper agent if i outlined what i’d do for butter cake, so i figured some strawberry flavor wouldn’t hurt. how wrong i was! there was something really off about the taste. it was weirdly tangy, which completely cancelled out the sweetness and made it feel flavorless. the texture was denser than regular butter cake, to the point of being… stodgy. i put it in the fridge for a couple hours and i could barely cut through it. maybe the one i got was stale? either way, the saving grace of this thing was the vanilla bean whipped cream, which is never a good sign.
