Here is more on why you might have gotten a bad tasting Kourtney’s Flourless Chocolate Cake:
I’ve seen a lot of people talking about it this week so I’m going to clear up any confusion. If there’s a jelly/weird squishy thing at the bottom….. they 100000% made it wrong. You’re supposed to keep everything at a certain temperature and stir constantly to avoid this. If yours looked like what I describe, I recommend taking a photo and reaching out to corporate for compensation.
Now this isn’t to say that the flourless cake tastes good, it still tastes awful (at least to me) but making it right at least gives it a fighting chance. When it’s not made right it’s very bitter with a gross aftertaste that won’t leave your mouth no matter what. When it is made right, it’s still a bit bitter but tolerable.
Anyways, hopes this helps.
From a Crumbl Cookies baker:
I haven’t seen if anyone’s talked about this yet but since the menu is finally up, DO NOT GET THE FLOURLESS CAKE IF YOU ARE CELIAC. I’m sure most of y’all would be aware of this already, but there’s also the ones that will try and buy this for their celiac friends. The cake is not gluten free, it is gluten friendly. The recipe does not contain any gluten, however the entire process of making it is a disaster waiting to happen. Celiacs cannot have any cross contamination, and between the gloves, spatulas, dishwasher, ovens, fridges, etc. including all of the people the dessert goes through in a day, it is not a safe item. If you are considering getting the cake for yourself or a friend with celiac, I beg of you reconsider because it is not the store’s fault, it’s crumbls.
