Crumbl Cookies in Durham
This Crumbl Cookies location opened at the end of 2021 and was the first Crumbl in the Durham and Chapel Hill area. One would suspect that many Duke University and UNC students go to this location. There is sure to be a Chapel Hill location sometime in the future, on Franklin Street, but that has not opened as of fall 2022.
The major downfall of this particular Crumbl Cookies location is that it does not face the major road – Renaissance Pkwy. The back of the building faces the road and it is the only Crumbl Cookies we have seen that the sign is just Crumbl with no baker’s head nor the word Cookies anywhere. Unless you know this location exists and the exact address you are not going to see it simply driving around.
This is unfortunate because many local Chapel Hill and Durham residents take exit 274 off I-40 and go the back way to Southpoint Mall. They drive past the Chick-Fil-A, gas station, Target and keep on driving towards the AMC movie theater, Apple Store and large Lululemon store. While they may notice the apartments on the right and the empty HH Gregg building on the left, they are unlikely to see the small Crumbl sign on the back of the building.
To make it even worse, during the spring, summer and fall months, there are trees between the back of the building and the road so there is no way anyone can see the Crumbl sign.
