The “Original Pink Sugar” is almond sugar cookie and almond frosting. The “Classic Pink Sugar” is vanilla sugar cookie and almond frosting. Though, it has been assumed that the Crumbl employees mix up the wording so you never really know if you’re getting the “Original Pink Sugar” or the “Classic Pink Sugar”, regardless of which one is on the menu.
There has been a tremendous amount of drama when it comes to the Pink Sugar cookie at Crumbl. From the very first week Crumbl offered rotating flavors June 11-16, 2018, the sugar cookie was a hit. “Chilled Sugar” or “Classic Pink Sugar” remained on the rotating menu every single week, along with Milk Chocolate Chip, until the announcement was made on April 16, 2022 that Classic Pink Sugar would be retired from the weekly rotating menu beginning the week of April 25-30, 2022. This means the last week of Classic Pink Sugar on the rotating menu every week was April 18-23, 2022.
There was an immediate uproar from the diehard Crumbl fans so they brought it back to the rotating menu from August 29 – September 3, 2022 until July 3-8, 2023. They didn’t really announce they were again taking it off the menu, it just wasn’t there every week like before. This continued until April 1-6, 2024 when Crumbl announced they would be offering Classic Pink Sugar for one week only. It was offered again, for one week only, during the week of April 29 – May 4, 2024. During the week of August 12-17, 2024 we saw Classic Pink Sugar for the very last time.
During the week of September 23-28, 2024 Crumbl announced they were offering The Original Pink Sugar on their rotating menu for one week only. They have since had The Original Pink Sugar cookie on the rotating menu the following weeks:
- November 4-9, 2024
- December 30 – January 4, 2025
- January 13-18, 2025
- February 10-15, 2025
- March 17-22, 2025
- June 2-7, 2025
It seems to be the case that Crumbl is adding The Original Pink Sugar to the menu during holidays such as Valentine’s Day or St. Patrick’s Day. They will likely add it to the menu any time they need to replace a cookie last minute or would like Crumbl Cookies locations to have an easy cookie to make during a very difficult prep week.
