UPDATE: The Benson Boone Moonbeam Ice Cream Cookie will run for a second week in a row at Crumbl Cookies locations during the week of June 30 – July 5, 2025.
Some Crumbl customers are asking why this chilled cookie doesn’t have much taste. The reason this can be the case is chilled cookies must sit out until the cool to room temperature before they are put in the refrigerators. When Crumbl locations are trying to speed up the process with a popular cookie, they can often put the cookie directly from the oven into the coolers or refrigerators. This is why the taste can be muted for some chilled cookies and not others.

A funny, and great, taste review, “the benson boone moonbeam icecream cookie. i admittedly donât know jack doodly about benson boone and donât care for his music, but i did like this cookie! 10/10. imagine an oreo but softer, sweeter, and richer with a subtle fruity flavor. i really did pick up way more of a cookies and cream shtick from this one, which is not a problem at all for a cookies and cream enjoyer such as myself. plus i canât stand citrusy flavored things, so it was a pleasant surprise when the lemon flavor was light and not overpowering in the slightest. the texture is soft and more akin to a brownie if anything. the presentation is beautiful, i even included a second picture to show you the colors.”
Another great taste description, “The lemon and berry flavors aren’t mixed together. They’re mild so they pair well with the marshmallow and chocolate cookie base. When I first bit into the blue part, it tasted more like a soft Oreo. The yellow tastes like lemon, purple is berry, and blue tastes like marshmallow.”
By all indications, this is going to be a very popular Crumbl cookie, at least at the beginning of the week. The lemon, berry and marshmallow toppings are sure to be popular but many people wonder why you would put lemon on a chocolate Oreo based cookie. Crumbl will know how popular this cookie is by Monday evening. Crumbl found great success with this cookie. Now the only question is, if supplies run out, will Crumbl fans be upset if this cookie is sold out on Friday and Saturday and never coming back?

We think we finally have a confirmation on the Celebrity Partnership cookie for the week of June 23-28, 2025. It is going to be Benson Boone’s Moonbeam Ice Cream Cookie. Upon going on Jimmy Fallon to promote his new album American Heart, Benson Boone raved about Moonbeam Ice Cream and explained, the “Moonbeam Ice Cream taking off your blue jeans” lyric was a humorous way for his friend and cowriter Jack to lighten the mood when writing new songs.

It is important to note that in promotional material it states, “available June 23-28 while supplies last”. Meaning, if it sells out at your Crumbl location, you may not be able to get it again. There will not be an upcharge price for this special cookie and it will be available in minis all week for those that want to try it before buying a large dessert cookie.

What we know about this cookie is it is a chilled 920 calorie cookie. The frosting/icing will be a mix of three buttercreams – Lemon, Berry and Marshmallow. It has an Oreo cookie base with a drizzle of white chocolate on the top of the special buttercream frosting. The early reviews are that the buttercream frosting is incredibly good but hard to decorate on the cookie. This dessert has the potential to be a very popular summer cookie.
Is Moonbeam Ice Cream at Crumbl actual Ice Cream? No! Remember that Crumbl adds a special flavor to desserts and cookies and names them what it tastes like. The Moonbeam Ice Cream Crumbl Cookie is not actual ice cream nor does it have ice cream on it. The frosting will taste like ice cream with the three flavors of Lemon, Berry and Marshmallow. At one point Crumbl Cookies locations did sell ice cream, but this cookie does not have actual ice cream as a topping.
Any Crumbl cookie that has a mixture of flavors in a buttercream frosting is a recipe for “coloring issues“. This happens time and again with any cookie in which the presentation calls for an even distribution of colors. While the taste may not differ very much, some of these Moonbeam Ice Cream cookies may have frosting or icing that does not look like the promotional or social media pictures. We will track that throughout the week and post some pictures of some of the most beautiful and some of the most not so beautiful Moonbeam Ice Cream cookies from Crumbl locations.
It looks as if it will be an Ice Cream Sandwich style cookie. Note that cookie butter ice cream was removed from the rotating menu the week of June 16-21, 2025 so this could be a similar style but with moon beam ice cream instead of cookie butter.
Crumbl Cookies had quite a bit of fun with “leaking” this cookie. A number of websites and forums (Reddit) were trying to predict what this cookie was going to be. That is part of the fun and Crumbl played along by posting this on their official TikTok account on Wednesday, June 18th, 2025, “POV: You leak the next Crumbl partnership”. It is very clear that celebrity partnerships are hear to stay for Crumbl.
It is interesting to know that Benson Boone grew up in Washington and was raised Mormon but is not currently practicing. Crumbl is a devoutly Mormon company which is why many people thought the partnership between Benson Boone and Crumbl was not meant to be. In 2025, Benson Boone has many ties to Utah and Salt Lake City. He resides just south of Salt Lake City and his family lives in St. George in the southern part of Utah. Both areas are very Mormon.
The Mystical Magical has been a viral TikTok jingle in May and June of 2025 so we expect this to be a very successful cookie campaign with one of the most popular male musical talents of the year.

Can you get the Moonbeam Ice Cream cookie early on Friday, June 20th or Saturday, June 21st? Here is how it works. Stores have all the ingredients to bake and test the cookies on Friday and Saturday night(s). They have definitely made the lemon, berry and marshmallow toppings/frosting. Unfortunately, they cannot sell these cookies to the public. But, they will be baked and tested by Crumbl employees on Friday and/or Saturday night(s).
Crumbl employees started baking and testing out the new Benson Boone Moonbeam Ice Cream cookie on Friday night. They have cleverly started calling it the BBC (Benson Boone cookie). Here is a review and a few pictures. Note the coloring issue with the frosting we mentioned that almost certainly will arise as a problem. Some of the cookies look very rainbow-ish or colorful while others look more white or light green. In fact, some of the cookies look like the color that changes from purple to green when you change the angle or light. This is known as gemstone alexandrite or the “alexandrite effect.”
How do I get a pretty Benson Boone Moonbeam Ice Cream cookie? Like almost every other Crumbl Cookie, the look and presentation of this cookie comes down to the staff at your Crumbl location. Almost every Crumbl team has a master dresser that knows how to do a C-Swirl perfectly. It would be advisable to look at the cookies on the display to see how they are frosted. You can also scour the Internet to see which stores in your area have a “master dresser” that will make the Moonbeam Ice Cream cookie look like the promotional material.
“I think it looks really cool. The flavor is kind of hard to describe, the initial taste is kinda smooth and not overly sweet with a hint of blueberry. It does have a salty/sharp aftertaste that lingers probably due to the lemon and chocolate which isnât pleasant. This would probably be better on a sugar base idk”
As someone said, “It feels like this should have been mint. Maybe marshmallow and mint on a chocolate base, but that’s it. It’s pretty color-wise and I can see the “moon in space” idea, but those flavors sound so weird together.”
The thickness of the colorful frosting will be determined by the “dresser” or “froster” of the cookie. This means that if your store has a very generous Crumbl frosting station employee you could get a cookie covered in the lemon, berry and marshmallow toppings. If you have a Crumbl franchise owner that is cutting costs, you could find that a lot of these Benson Boone Moonbeam Ice Cream cookies are a little light on the Moonbeam Ice Cream frosting. Note that all the cookies on a tray have yet to get the sweet white drizzle or sprinkle of cookies and cream that give it the final look.
This cookie is setting up to be a disaster as the frosting and/or icing is nearly impossible to make the presentation look anything close to the promotional materials. Here is a case in point:
If the cookies look like this all week, expect FoodTok to explode. It is completely understandable to want to make a cookie that is very Instagramable and beautiful but if the bakers and staff members at Crumbl Cookies locations cannot make this frosting work correctly, it’s going to be a long week for Crumbl both in stores and socially. Hopefully the teams at store locations can figure out a way to dress this cookie better than what they are doing now.

The “famous Crumbl C Swirl” (if you know, you know) can be very difficult with this cookie. Here is some advice that was offered by a very experienced Crumbl Cookies employee:
“Definitely need some work on the edges, and only make the cswirl motion once, donât go over the frosting multiple times. If it looks bad, it looks bad. Donât try to redo it because it will end up looking worse đ when you swirl, make sure to put pressure on the outside edge of the knife to create a little bit of an edge to the frosting. I describe it as looking like a kiddie pool, if that makes sense.”
