Crumbl tested out the Caramel Toffee Cocoa Mousse Cup (NCD) at testing locations during the week of November 10-15, 2025. This was a review, “Got the toffee one it was good until it wasn’t… marshmallow mousse topping tasted chemically sweet, cocoa mousse light and good, caramel tasted slightly off, vanilla cake not chocolate. Overall too sweet and just too much :(. $7 of BS”
This is important to know, “Dumb question, did you eat the stuff around the top of the cup?” Response, “Not dumb, I tried it, tasted like stale paper with a slight Oreo aftertaste”. So, if you plan on eating the caked icing on the side of the cup, know that it could taste very bad.
Also important, “was it served in layers? like mousse then cake?” Response, “Yes! Good question. Thick base and top layer of chocolate mousse and several layers in between.”

Crumbl Cookies is going all in on the Cocoa Mousse Cup ripoff of Tyra Banks Hot Ice Cream. One of the more popular Cocoa Mousse Cups will likely be the Caramel Toffee Cocoa Mousse Cup. This dessert is described as “layers of hot chocolate mousse, crunchy cookies and cream streusel, smooth caramel, and dark chocolate cake all topped with a fluffy marshmallow whipped cream, toasted marshmallows, and completed with toffee pieces around the rim of the cup.”
The big question, when it comes to these Cocoa Mousse Cups, is “what will the upcharge price be?” Crumbl customers have become very cost sensitive to all the upcharge prices and the dessert that have an upcharge that don’t go viral are very big sales laggards. If there is an upcharge of +$1.99 or higher, it will greatly hinder sales of this dessert. Especially in December when American consumers have many other options, including homemade sweets that are made by friends and family.

There is little argument to be made that Crumbl toasted marshmallow dessert sell well. The S’mores cookie kicked it off and now anything S’mores or S’mores Brownie not only sells well, but is very highly rated at Crumbl. The issue with the Cocoa Mousse Cup dessert is presentation. People want the dessert to look like the picture. Are Crumbl locations prepped and staffed to the point that they have a crew member that can make a crunchy cookies & cream streusel on the edge of 500 cups a day?

We will document the Crumbl Cocoa Mousse Cup trend and see if it creates any buzz. Crumbl locations really need some buzz after some missteps during the 2025 peak selling summer season.
