The Cookies & Cream Cocoa Mousse Cup (NCD) was available at Crumbl testing locations during the week of November 10-15, 2025. Unfortunately, the first batch of reviews aren’t great. This is important to know for those considering the Cocoa Mousse Cups at Crumbl, “Dumb question, did you eat the stuff around the top of the cup?” Response, “Not dumb, I tried it, tasted like stale paper with a slight Oreo aftertaste”. So, if you plan on eating the caked icing on the side of the cup, know that it could taste very bad.
In an extremely quick response to Tyra Bank’s Hot Ice Cream. Banks launched her hot ice cream brand in early October 2025 in this Instagram post. Crumbl quickly jumped on the bandwagon and originally named the dessert the Hot Chocolate Cookies & Cream Cup (NCD). There was so much confusion as to is this a hot chocolate drink or an actual non cookie dessert. Crumbl rebranded the name to Cookies & Cream Cocoa Mousse Cup in early November 2025. It is the same dessert, different name.
The Cookies & Cream Cocoa Mousse Cup is described as “layers of hot chocolate mousse, crunchy cookies & cream streusel, and dark chocolate cake all topped with a fluffy marshmallow whipped cream, toasted marshmallows, and a drizzle of chocolate”.
As we mentioned when the “hot chocolate” mousse desserts were first announced, Crumbl actually does the toasted marshmallow desserts quite well. The Crumbl Crew actually has a designated “toasted” at each location that uses a culinary blowtorch. When S’mores cookie first came out, it was an entire training process for an adult in each Crumbl store to learn how to use a culinary blowtorch.
The issue with this dessert is the preparation. Having to make this dessert look Instagram presentable is nearly impossible at scale. This will be the major issue during the month of December, when the Cocoa Mousse Cups run on the Crumbl rotating menu. Look for many, many TikTok videos and social media posts about how the Cocoa Mousse Cup did not look like the picture.
That said, this is sure to drum up a ton of interest. Any new style of dessert that Crumbl runs at all their locations brings about interest. The ultimate success of this dessert will come down to taste. In the month of December, Crumbl does not sell a lot of desserts because Americans are full of homemade desserts from friends and family. Crumbl is going to have to market their Cocoa Mousse Cups very hard to get Americans to spend $6 on a dessert cup versus eating grandma’s homemade apple pie.
